Ads: A Bad Fad? Glad To Be Mad
Ads on videos are stupid. We live in a world where people are conditioned to just ignore them, so why do they even need to be a part of my YouTube experience?
I thought that leaving it alone would make it minimize or whatever. I thought it was fading out but it just got like 50% transparent and said 'I'm comfortable like this.' I don't mind the Netflix ad on the side because well, it's ON THE SIDE. Also it's obviously official and it's Netflix, everybody knows Netflix and knows that ad there is official. More on that later.
If I needed spyware, I'd do my research, not click your ad "because it's convenient." It's unrelated to the page anyway. It's like if you're working out at the gym and your friend pops up and says....um.... "You should get some anti-spyware!"
And the "Ads by Google" thing makes it look so unofficial and therefore suspicious, even though it's Google hosted. The ads to the side are fine, because they don't interfere with my viewing pleasure.
Speaking of Google, we live in a world where we can look anything up. Do we really need people telling us what we may want? If I want something, I google it. Googling has become a freaking verb. To google. We've evolved beyond the need for most ads.
I don't want this to come off as begging for change, I just wanted to express how I feel about this point so that this opinion is out there.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm the 100,000th visitor on several different sites. I've got some prizes to win or something.
